FR-F840 Variable Frequency Drive

What is the FR-F800 range?

The Mitsubishi Electric FR-F840 range sits within the FR-F800 series, these are a series of VFD’s that have been optimised for maximum energy saving with pump and fan control. They are the ideal solution for pumps and fans because of their powerful features and intelligent functions.

Features and Benefits

• Detection of mechanical faults, unnecessary alarms and line stops can be avoided through the comparison of the present speed/load status against the stores speed/load characteristic which means that out of warnings can be accurately measured and quickly acted upon.
• A reduction of energy costs through the utilisation of Variable Frequency Drives, this is possible because of the intelligent functions such as advanced optimum excitation control and enhanced PID controller. During PID control the drive will activate “sleep mode” which contributes to the energy saving of the VFD.
• Smooth restarts after a spontaneous power failure or outage through the restartable coasting motor speed automatically. Featuring an advanced flying start function, the operation can be smoothly started from a slow speed.
• Auto tuning of IM and PM motors, this can ensure that the motor and drive package are perfectly matched to ensure that they reach the maximum performance.
• One drive can control multiple pumps and features a second PID controller.
• Some other features that make this VFD a viable solution for a variety of scenarios are the one touch digital dial which allows direct access to all parameters, highly flexible built in PLC, a fire over-ride mode, easy system fault diagnosis and comprehensive noise counter measures.

Where can I use the FR-F840 Frequency Inverter?

• These types of VDF’s can typically be found and are idea for pump, compressor and fan applications.
• This variable frequency drive is a great solution for blowers.
• Ideally suited for an industrial environment or within the residential/commercial sector as part of an integrated HVAC solution.

How easy is it to set a Variable Frequency Drive?

It is advised, but not essential to have technical knowledge to comfortably set up the drive with the setup-software FR Configurator2, through direct connection via USB port.

Is my Inverter Drive backwards compatible?

The FR-F800 is completely backwards compatible with the FR-F700 series. The parameters can be easily copied by the programming package FR Configurator2.
