RS PRO HSS-E Cobalt Drill Bit Set
RS PRO offers this exceptional Drill Bit Set made from HSS-E cobalt alloy for high-performance drill bits. It contains a great selection of the most commonly used diameters. With these High-Speed Steel (HSS) featuring a 5% cobalt content, this allows for increased heat resistance even without insufficient cooling. With the addition of Cobalt in the cutting material, these drill bits can be used on high tensile strength materials of 800N/m². Featuring a 135° non-slip split point is great for precisely centring and manufactured in accordance with DIN 338 for high precision tolerances and geometric accuracies.
Typical Applications
Cobalt bits cut faster and last longer when drilling high tensile metal materials, from stainless steel, carbon steels, cast iron, titanium alloy and even carbon fibre composite materials.
Features and Benefits
5% Cobalt High-Performance HSS-E Drill bits.
High-Temperature strength without sufficient coolant
135° non-slip split point for precise centring
Direct drilling without the need for prior centring or drilling a pilot hole
Cuts faster and lasts longer than regular HSS drill bits
0.5 mm increments
FAQ's
Q. What does jobber mean?
A. The word jobber specifies the length of the drill bit. This generally means the length of the entire drill bit itself is significantly longer for diameter it has. As an example, a mechanic drill bit will have a much shorter flute and therefore have a much smaller overall length.
Q. What is the difference between HSS-E and HSS?
A. HSS drill bits are suitable for most drilling applications, they are able to stand up to high temperatures. typically used for drilling a wide variety of metals.
HSS-E drill bits are able to cope with higher cutting speeds, at higher feed rates, whilst ensuring a longer life compared to standard HSS drill bits.
