Bourns GDT Surge Arrestor, 2017 Series
Bourns Model 2017 Series Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) Surge Arrestors with FLAT® Technology offers a 2-electrode GDT in an innovative flat-package design. Bourns FLAT technology delivers a low profile solution for high density and height-restricted PCB applications.
The Model 2017 Series is an ITU K.12 Class III device rated at 10 kA on an 8/20μs waveform. DC breakdown voltages range from 90 V to 420 V. Series is available in horizontal and vertical surface mount versions and a leadless design for cartridge or clamp fit applications.
Features and Benefits:
Flexible mounting options
Compact, space-saving design
Robust surge current ratings
Stable performance over life
Low leakage and insertion loss
Constant capacitance regardless of voltage
Low arc voltage
Wide range of voltages
Applications in Telecom equipment; Industrial communications; Surge Protective Devices and high density PCB assemblies
Switching Spark Gaps (GDT)
Switching spark gaps are designed specifically for voltage controlled switching of capacitive discharge circuits where a high energy, low loss, fast rate of switching is required. These products are ideally suited for applications where a capacitive discharge is utilised with a transformer to obtain pulses of high-voltage levels in the order of several thousand volts. Utilised in gas heating and gas appliances along with protection of Xenon discharge lamps in both the architectural and automotive areas.
