Polishing Kit for AFBR-4526Z
The AFBR-4594Z polishing kit, from Avago Technologies, is for use with fibre optic connectors. It polishes the end of the fibre flush to the connector so as that it can be used in fibre optic applications. The kit includes a polishing tool, abrasive paper and lapping film.
When the fibre is placed into the connector, any excess should be trimmed. The connector is then inserted into the polishing fixture before pressing onto the abrasive paper. Draw a figure of eight until the connector is flush with the base of the polishing tool. The lapping paper offers a finer polishing result for an improvement in coupling performance and is comparable to Avago Technologies' factory polish.
