EATON Single Phase DILM Series Contactors

Eaton's products offer over 100 years of experience in starting, controlling and protecting motors. This generation of modular contactors are part of a proven product portfolio that benefit from the advances in technology for motor switching and control, which in turn gives the user a number of additional benefits whilst helping you use energy in a more reliable, efficient, safe and sustainable way.

Specifically designed for very high currents the DILM series of power contacts are able to deal with current ranges from 185 A to 2,600 A. Built with electronically controlled drives, high operational reliability and a long lifespan these compact contactors make a trusted addition to any machine and system, ensuring continual operation for busy environments. DILM contactors also handle all demands when used in conjunction with PLCs.

As standard, the range coils are equipped with an integrated suppressor circuit and 2NO/2NC auxiliary contacts.

DILM 580 A - 1400 A Contactors

These power contactors use vacuum technology which enables them to stay compact in size. The technology prevents the formation of open arcs and therefore the release of any switching gases allowing a tighter arrangement of the switchgear and smaller distances to the conductive structures.

Features and Benefits

• Compatible with the SmartWire-DT® communication system
• Identical sizes for AC and DC operated contactors
• Minimised heat dissipation - energy saving
• Direct Fieldbus connection
• Integrated suppressor circuit for DC models
• Suitable for up to 1,000 V
• AC/DC wide-range coil
• Low holding power
• Utilisation category AC 1 and AC 3
• Features immunity to interference and control circuit reliability even when used in conjunction with PLC's

Typical Applications

This range of contactors can be used across a multitude of applications, users will commonly find these contactors being used within industrial settings such as factory automation, railway transportation, electrical systems, electric motor, lighting, and mechanical engineering.

How contactors operate?

Contactors, unlike relays, are specifically designed to connect to high current load devices. Used in larger-scale applications, a contactor is a switch that can be controlled remotely, specifically designed to switch a large amount of electrical power through its contacts. If a device has the ability to switch more than 15 amperes it is called a contactor. These devices also feature high coil voltages which is rare within relays.
