Product details
Coding and Guide Pins
Coding pins, guide pins and sockets suitable for all heavy duty connectors, except for HA3 way, HA4 way and HD7 way. They replace the screws normally used to fix the insert into the housing and should be fixed into both sides of the base and cable hood in an asymmetrical manner so that different coding arrangements mean that the wrong plug and socket combination cannot be mated. This enables up to 6 conectors of the same number of way to be co-located without risk of mis-mating. Up to six different codes can be achieved
Guide pin & sockets are supplied in bags of 8 (4 male/4 female). These also replace the screws normally used to fix the insert into the housing and should be fixed so that they mate when both connector halves are pushed together. Again, when used for coding, they should be fitted asymmetrically like coding pins. Guide pins and sockets are also useful for aiding the two connector halves accurately together so that insert pins are not damaged. They also guard against angled de-coupling of the connectors
