The Microchip Small Form Factor USB Type-C Power Delivery (PD) Port Controller designed to adhere to the USB Type-C Cable and Connector Specification and USB Power Delivery 3.1 Specification. It provides cable plug orientation and detection for a USB Type-C receptacle and implements baseband communication with a partner USB Type-C device via the integrated USB Power Delivery 3.1 MAC. It is designed to function as a Companion Power Delivery Controller to an external Microchip MCU/SoC using the integrated SPI interface.
