Phoenix Contact FFKDS 2.54mm PCB Terminal Blocks

Phoenix Contact FFKDS series of 2.54mm pitch PCB terminal blocks with front push-in spring connection. The versatile PCB terminal block connectors can be used as a single module or side stacked for custom grouping with the built-in latching feature.

Compact in design, measuring only 5.04 mm in width the green FFKDS PCB terminal blocks are quick to install and are easy to maintain. They are ideal for applications where multiple connections are required. The space-saving connection method is perfect where board space could be limited.

What Is Push-in Spring Technology?

Push-in connection technology has been developed by Phoenix Contact to provide a quick, safe and convenient method for direct conductor connection. Both solid and stranded conductors with ferrules or stranded conductors without ferrules can be inserted directly into the terminal block, without the need for specialist tooling. When conductors with ferrules are inserted into the terminal point the contact spring opens automatically and the conductor is securely fixed. When using stranded conductors without ferrules the terminal point is easily opened by the orange opening lever.

Features and Benefits

  • Time saving push-in connection, no specialist tools required

  • Latching on the side of the PCB terminal block enables stackable combinations

  • Double solder pin for high stability on the PCB

  • Vertical and horizontal terminal blocks are available

  • Industry-standard pitch (2.54 mm)

  • Conductor cross-section 0.14 mm ² to 0.5 mn² for both solid and flexible cable

  • Wire range 26 AWG to 20 AWG

  • 11 mm stripping length

  • RAL 6021 green PA insulated housing

  • Flammability rating according to UL94-V0

  • -40˚ C to 100˚ C (Depending on the current-carrying capacity/derating curve)

Applications

Screwless terminal block connectors are used in a very wide and diverse range of applications. Terminal blocks are often used where high volume or quick assembly is required. They enable the fast transmission of data, signals and power directly to the printed circuit board. Some of the most common areas are

  • Industrial process control

  • Automation and control

  • Robotics

  • Electronics industry

  • Manufacturing

  • Electrical engineering
