RS PRO introduces the RS PRO Bending Beam Load Cell. This load cell is made from stainless steel with a fully welded construction to ensure durability and long life for your product. This bending beam load cells low profile, high accuracy, high precision and sealing makes this bending type load cell perfect for a wide range of applications including weighing and packing machines and suitable for harsh industrial environments.
Load cells are transducers that transform a force, for example, tension, compression or torque into an electrical signal, this is then measured and standardised. Load cells come in a variety of types from S-type, shear beam, strain gauge, beam and compression load cells. Beam type load cells and force sensors are specially designed for low profile platform scales and a variety of other applications where hermetically sealed cells are needed and used in a variety of industries for example

During the measuring, weight acts on the load cells metal spring element and causes elastic deformation. This strain, positive or negative, is then converted into an electrical signal by a strain gauge that is installed on the spring element.
