Surface Coating
A fluorochemical polymer coating designed to give high levels of water and oil repellency to printed circuit boards and other electronic devices. The coating can be applied to metal contacts or moving parts and assemblies, eliminating the need for masking.
Dries to a thin transparent film, which repels liquids such as lubricating oils, silicone fluids and water, and is insoluble in most non-fluorinated solvents and hydrocarbons.
Excellent repellency to hydrocarbon oils, silicone oils, synthetic fluids and aqueous solutions
Dried film has a free surface energy which is lower than PTFE or polyethylene, so that non-solubilising solvents (heptane, toluene and water) bead and drain freely
Dried film can withstand temperatures above 100°C for long periods without losing repellent properties
Removed or stripped using IPA
Contains UV trace for easy inspection
Applications:
Ideal for PCBs to give moisture repellence.
Can be applied to finished boards, coating under devices used in SMT.
Complete boards can be coated without masking connectors as thin film is removed by very low friction forces, for example attaching connector.
Can be used as an anti-migration barrier against hydrocarbon and silicone oils, in small precision bearings.
